A former Washington Post writer under Watergate investigator Bob Woodward, he worked years as a contributing editor to Rolling Stone, with gonzo journalist Hunter Thompson. He served more than 2 decades as a writer for Esquire magazine. He has authored more than 10 books, several of his stories have inspired films and documentaries such as Boogie Night’s with Mark Wahlberg, Wonderland with Val Kilmer and Lisa Kudrow, and Veronica Guerin , with Cate Blanchette.
